CASHRM is an organization for human resource professionals representing over 400 members from the greater Charlotte region. Our satellite group, the Rowan County Human Resources Association (RCHRA), includes human resource professionals from the greater Salisbury area.  SMA Charlotte™ is a special interest group of CASHRM, and serves as a networking and resource group for staffing and employment issues, trends and solutions.  CASHRM also provides website and event registration support for LakeNormanHR, a new SHRM chapter for HR professionals in the Lake Norman area.  CASHRM also sponsors SHRM student HR chapters at Johnson & Wales University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Winthrop University.  We are a local chapter (#0065) affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management.

October 18: LakeNormanHR annual business meeting, dinner and program:

Join us in Mooresville at the Hilton Garden Inn for dinner, our first ever annual membership dinner meeting, where we will elect our Board of Directors for 2017.  We will then we will share the results of the 2016 mid-market Benefits Benchmarking Survey with comparisons to other companies based in the Charlotte area, as well as nationally.  Participants will gain an understanding of the survey results and how it can impact their organizations. November 9: SMA Charlotte™ Sourcing Lab and Fall Happy Hour

Join us at Draught at 5:30 PM for a Fall Happy Hour and sourcing training lab.  This program will provide innovative strategies and techniques to source, talent map, and engage passive talent.  Our focus will be to discuss real-world scenarios that talent acquisition professionals face during their recruiting efforts. November 10:  CASHRM and Lake Norman SHRM  present "Disruptive Inclusion: from Diversity & Inclusion to Business Impact"

LKNHR is co-sponsoring with CASHRM and The University of Phoenix (Charlotte Campus) a FREE Diversity and Inclusion Symposium.


Join us from 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm, at the Sheraton Hotel - Charlotte to learn more about how to leverage diversity and inclusion to drive employee engagement and create trust in the work place. Participants will gain practical ideas that can be applied to maximize business impact and learn more about local resources available to help you create an inclusive work place.


The keynote speaker is Pam McElvin, founder and publisher of Diversity MBA. Panel experts include Steve Larson from TIAA, Millette Granville from Delhaize America, and Terri Moore from Korn-Ferry. November 14: CASHRM Breakfast and Program

Postponed until First Quarter 2017: CASHRM HR Business Partners -  Enhance your Strategic Contributions

Join us at Crowne Plaza Executive Park for this 2-day workshop from 8 am to 5 pm each day. The workshop will cover developing the necessary skills to become an effective HR business partner (HRBP) and maximize the value of HR in your organization. Explore the positive impact of the HRBP role and how use of an HRBP structure improves HR services across organizations. Analyze case studies and engage in group discussions to enhance your consulting skills, business acumen, and ability to strategically contribute to organizational goals. Develop a business case and implementation plan to guide your organization’s transition to the HRBP structure. The cost of the workshop is $1295, but you can save $405 if you become a member. The cost for members is $890. Registration will open as soon as the new date is set.


Calendar Updates for 2016:

SAVE THE DATE notices for upcoming 2016 events have now been posted to the website calendar.  All SAVE THE DATE calendar entries can be downloaded to your calendar and will "convert" to meeting registration links whenever registration is open for an event.  As a reminder, registration for a specific event typically opens up approximately 30 days before the event date.  Please check back here and on the e-blast notices for event specifics. 



Registrations, Walk-Ins, Cancellations and No-Shows:

All members, sponsors and guests for Charlotte Area SHRM , Rowan County HRA and SMA Charlotte™ events are responsible for registering for events prior to the event date in order to guarantee an accurate headcount for logistics setup and food and beverage planning purposes.  Failure to register or cancel for an event can subject the chapter to unnecessary charges and expenditures.  We have previously provided updates in recent e-blasts that explain the policies and procedures for registration, cancellation, walk-ins  and no-shows.  Click HERE for a copy of the complete chapter policy.
