CASHRM is an organization for human resource professionals representing approximately 400 members from the greater Charlotte region. Our satellite group, the Rowan County Human Resources Association (RCHRA), includes human resource professionals from the greater Salisbury area.  SMA Charlotte™ is a special interest group of CASHRM, and serves as a networking and resource group for staffing and employment issues, trends and solutions.  CASHRM also provides website and event registration support for LakeNormanHR, a new SHRM chapter for HR professionals in the Lake Norman area.  CASHRM also sponsors SHRM student HR chapters at University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Winthrop University.  We are a local chapter (#0065) affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management.

June 23: Rowan County Human Resources Program and Lunch


Please join us a the Rowan Cabarrus Community College at 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM for a program on the tools available through NC Works via online presented by Veronica Grantham and Ken McCoy. Staff with Centralina Workforce Services and North Carolina Department of Commerce will present information regarding the employer tools available via the NCWorks Online system and how NCWorks fits in the puzzle that is employee recruitment. There will be an opportunity for employers to try the system hands on during this session!  They will also share other practices that employers can utilize outside of NCWorks to improve their ability to attract candidates for high demand positions. June 20: CASHRM and E4 Carolina


Join at UNC Charlotte EPIC Building at 12 PM for a discussion by national and regional experts on the topic of Privacy & Cybersecurity: HR's Duty to Protect Data/Combat Insider Threats. From Sourcing Talent to Hiring, Reference Checking to Onboarding, Training, and managing Performance, Employee Assistance, Safety and Attrition and Exit Interviews, HR Leadership plays a key role at every step in SECURITY. In a day when hacking and workplace threats are becoming more common place, HR Leaders need their TOP GAME. Working together with IT, Risk, Legal, Operations and other departments, this challenge is more than preventing and being ready for Cyber attacks and shoring up physical security - HR should lead combating the Insider Threat.

This Panel of experts includes a former Soviet Spy, a current FBI Special Agent and a Former Defense Professional now a consultant - all focused on how HR can be more effective in balancing privacy with cyber security Learn why it is essential for organizations to be aware of and mitigate the risks of cloud based threats. June 20: Hiring for Engageability

Please join us at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mooresville at 5:30 PM - 7:40 PM for a program on Hiring for Engageability presented by Darren Findley from Engage2Excel. You will learn about the significant trends companies are using to enhance the candidate experience and improve their recruiting results.  You will gain insights on how to hire for engageability using tactics backed by science and research.  When you go back to your workplace, you will have ideas to implement that will create a more engaging and efficient candidate experience and increase the quality of hires.  To register, click here.

Calendar Updates for 2017:

SAVE THE DATE notices for upcoming 2017 events have now been posted to the website calendar.  All SAVE THE DATE calendar entries can be downloaded to your calendar and will "convert" to meeting registration links whenever registration is open for an event.  As a reminder, registration for a specific event typically opens up approximately 30 days before the event date.  Please check back here and on the e-blast notices for event specifics. 

Registrations, Walk-Ins, Cancellations and No-Shows:

All members, sponsors and guests for Charlotte Area SHRM , Rowan County HRA and SMA Charlotte™ events are responsible for registering for events prior to the event date in order to guarantee an accurate headcount for logistics setup and food and beverage planning purposes.  Failure to register or cancel for an event can subject the chapter to unnecessary charges and expenditures.  We have previously provided updates in recent e-blasts that explain the policies and procedures for registration, cancellation, walk-ins  and no-shows.  Click HERE for a copy of the complete chapter policy.
