RCHRA Membership

The Rowan County Human Resources Association (RCHRA) s a satellite group of the Charlotte Area Society for Human Resource Management (CASHRM).  As such, active members of RCHRA are classifed as members of CASHRM.  RCHRA  membership is available to HR professionals who meet the eligibility criteria listed below and whose primary work location is in the Rowan County/Salisbury area.  RCHRA membership is conferred upon an individual and not the individual’s employer or sponsoring organization. An individual membership is neither transferable nor assignable.  Once approved, it belongs to the member for as long as the membership is current and in good standing.

RCHRA Membership Dues:

  • RCHRA (also national SHRM member) = $75 / year 
  • RCHRA (NOT a national SHRM Member): $100 / year 

RCHRA Membership FAQs:

  • RCHRA dues entitle the member to all benefits for a period of twelve (12) calendar months from date of payment. Dues are inclusive of meal and beverage service at regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
  • If a member's dues expire at the end of the 12-month period, (s)he will be deactivated from the membership list and web site access until dues are paid in full. Members so deactivated may be subject to a re-activation fee for re-instatement to RCHRA membership.
  • RCHRA members are considered members of CASHRM and are eligible to participate in all CASHRM events at the same fee or no-charge basis applicable to other active CASHRM members.
  • From time to time, CASHRM and/or RCHRA may designate sponsored events/seminars for the benefit of the membership and in addition to or in conjunction with monthly meetings – e.g. mid-year legal update, mock trial, etc. A reasonable participation fee for such events/seminars as may be appropriate to cover the expenses for such events may be charged for the event, regardless of current membership status. In addition, the Board may elect to contribute any proceeds of any special event/seminar to the annual SHRM Foundation fund drive or any other charitable purpose.

RCHRA Membership Eligibility:  

  • Members must be primarily engaged in Human Resource Management, Industrial or Labor Relations activities or Personnel Administration for their employer.

  • Where an individual is responsible for several functions, the responsibility for their personnel, industrial or labor relations function shall constitute the primary responsibility. An active member changing his/her primary responsibility, but still responsible for the personnel function may retain his/her membership.

  • Individuals who are in clerical or secretarial position in personnel, industrial relations or labor relations are not eligible for membership, but are always welcome to attend meetings as the guest of a member.

  • Membership is open to representatives of consulting firms, temporary help agencies, employment agencies (public, private, or governmental agencies) and other such organizations. Membership is also open to academic personnel, teachers, and professors, in institutions of higher learning.
